Texas will charge Texas Tech band members $100 each for admission

Are band seats different from the normal overall allotment given to the visiting school? I always assumed the visiting school was given an allotment of tickets to either 1) sell to fans, 2) pay for and use internally (staff, band) or 3) return to the host school who then sells them to that fan base.

This isn't a new practice. My brother was in the ASU band in the mid-90's and they got charged at around 50% of the games they went to he said.
It's stupid and I don't like it but Texas isn't the first team to do it.

Yeah, I read the story yesterday and it said they've been charged before. Not a new practice.

I guess Texas could use the money for a new Offensive Coordinator.

B/c up until now the old SWC schools in the Big 12 continued SWC tradition and did not charge each other for bands to attend games.
I'll give you 3 guesses as to which school is the one that pushed for this change.
