My point was i dont think their D was as good as it was on paper last year, because of all the shitty QBs they played. I still hold true to that. Denver already proved that somewhat

The shut down Denver for 3 plus quarters and gave up 2 cheap TD's after building a 20 point lead. Playing better offenses may mean they will give up more points and yds overall, but if most of that comes late after they have a 20 point lead, I'll take it. It may not be the 85 Bears, but they have a damn good defense, you just sound like you don't want to give them any credit for whatever reason. The Texans have 1 of the 5 best defenses in the NFL, probably top 3 I don't care what QB's they are playing.

13-14 wins is very possible. Only worrisome games are : GB, Balt, @ Chic, @ NE. I think they will win 2 of those and maybe lose 1 other we don't expect. So 13-3, 12-4.

so they'll give up 10 points a game when they play Brady and Rodgers?

opposed to Tannehill, Gabbert, Hasselbeck?

Lester

Ive not been a huge Texans fan, I thought they were too weak on D,, unitl they hired Wade.
So this is not a looaded Texans fan question.

Who in the AFC is no question better than the Texans?

IF Houston has the home field advantage in the playoffs who beats them at home?

and why

No one. The Ravens at least wouldn't beat themselves. If I were a Texans fan, I would just worry about a letdown in the Playoffs if they waltz in with a bye. At least home-field should lessen the chances of that...

No that's not what I said. What exactly is your point? Are you saying that if a team gives up more points and yds vs a good offense that proves they don't have a good D?

Who do you think has a good Defense? Does San Fran or does the fact they gave 32 points to the Saints mean they don't?

Id be worried about playing Balt & New England when it matters,

they are all grouped together in that top tier

keep an eye on Denver and Pitt too.

overall the AFC is way down though from years past. 7 of the top 10 worst teams in the NFL are probably in the AFC

Exactly. Denver may even get their shite together. The AFC is up for grabs but the Cards have the NFC on lock.

I dont disagree but at this point it looks like Houston will only have to face one of them, in Houston

NE looks VERY beatable,,and if the D is healthy I think Flacco gets rattled

lot of games left to play

Teams like Baltimore and San Fran are the toughest matchups for Houston. Houston can be run on. The key is to stay close enough on the scoreboard to stay away from predictable passing situations. In my opinion, those are easily the best 3 teams in the league right now.

I want to see more out of New England. I thought the Texans would have had a good shot against them in the playoff last year if they were healthier.

But i enjoying the season and hoping we can keep everyone on the field

There's a long way to go obviously and we will see how they do against GB and Baltimore in a couple of weeks. I can see Pittsburgh being a threat, though I'm bearish on them this year. Same with Denver if Manning proves to be his old self and SD is always an interesting team. Getting home field will be huge, they need to beat Baltimore in 3 weeks.

I pretty much agree with all of that. Schaub has struggled with Baltimore, he needs to show he can beat them.

my point is, you can be a top 5 defense on paper playing Gabbert, Luck, Tannehill, Hasselbeck/Locker, Ponder.... but if you cannot at least slow down a good offense(which HOU couldnt do last year vs NO), it means nothing.

Who ever forces the most turnovers. And that is generally random year to year.

PPG are skewed because there are too many bad teams.

San Fran is the one true elite NFL defense. In their own tier.

check out their record in NOV/DEC over the last 5 years.

and yall keep saying BALT is the truth, but NE should have beaten them in BALT a few weeks ago.

Balt's D isn't elite anymore. Good offenses win in the postseason. Id be more scared to play Brady than Joe freakin FLacco
