Gun to my head 10 years ago, I would have told you that Juan Dixon would have had a much better pro career than Steve Blake.

And if I remember correctly, Dee Brown and D Williams weren't all that different in terms of skill in college. Whelp, that's changed...

What others come to mind in football or basketball?

That's a good one

I'll also toss out Shaq and Stanley. Classic example of roads diverging

Mike Bibby and Miles Simon
And I can't lie when I was younger I thought Khalid El-Amin would be the best player pro that UConn team.

Deron was always regarded as a lottery prospect. Brown was borderline 2nd round.

Don't kid yourself, Thomas is a bust for his drafting position

ETA: I guess since he's still in the league and gets minutes, he still 'made it.' I'll concede that. Production relative to draft spot isnt there though.

That's a great example. I didn't even think Blake would be drafted, and Dixon was an All-American.

True, I guess it hinges on your definition of made it. I'll stick with the tenure in the pros for sake of the thread

Thought Michael Dickerson would be the best from that team. Then Jason Terry backed up all of them and outlasted them all.
