We have a class assignment where the teacher wants us to debate whether the benefits of having super conferences in college football will outweigh the costs of it. What would be your arguments for either side?

Are you really asking this board? Do your own HW man.

(If you are a member of TigerDroppings and are really asking that question, then I don't know what to tell you)

What makes you think I don't have my own thoughts? I certainly do, but would like to see other's opinions as well, is that ok?
Personally, I don't think they are a good thing for the sport. I think half of the schools not in those conferences will disband their football teams, and maybe even athletic departments as a whole.

Think about a team like Missouri travelling to Florida for a women's basketball game on a Tuesday night. They will have to miss a couple days of class and that is an expensive trip. Or how about some of the teams joining the big east. Isn't SDSU or someone out there competing in the Big East. Think about them travelling to Rutgers. Makes no sense.

Well you have a really shitty opinion then. With this line of thinking there would never be any football under the FBS level.

You were right to come here, you have terrible opinions.

Other than the super conferences there wouldn't be.
How will the small schools be able to fund their teams? They rely on payouts from playing big schools to help fund their budgets. If they don't get that money, student fees will increase even more, if schools approve the hikes in fees. It would become more like the FCS.

I think you need to stay in college because that is one asinine statement.

Ok, I'll admit that this would be way too far fetched, but it could still cripple D1A teams that are not in the super conferences.

sounds like you go to La Monroe or some other small state school in a midmajor conference

If the quoted part represents your opinion you ought to justify that by talking about how the school's athletic budgets will be harmed by other schools forming superconferences
