Additionally, two boosters impermissibly provided nearly $3,500 in extra benefits to a football student-athlete, including an impermissible loan, free use of an automobile, meals and other extra benefits. The football student-athlete lived with the boosters through a program created by the school in which student-athletes paid rent for short-term housing. The program was discontinued by the university because of the risk associated with it.

Athletes paying rent to live with boosters? How could this ever have been thought of as a good idea? Jesus Christ

If this happened at any team in the South, ESPN would have a case of the Aunt Pittypat vapors.

Isn't that just a per game stipend for Bama?

Seriously anything under $5,000 per year should be considered pocket money...I'm sure most schools still give $300 post-game handshakes so the kids can go party.

It's not like the boosters bought this kid a Porsche.

Based off of what? Everyone knows Cam Newton accepted money and you still retained your title.

Oh stop it with your made up victim complex. This happened to USC, they vacated wins, a Heisman, and PRODUCED AN ENTIRE DOCUMENTARY FILM ABOUT IT.

They didn't just vacate wins, they vacated a national championship.

not sure the money amount is an issue. It is the fact that a violation occurred and could have happened more than once. If not wide spread they probably will get a slap on the wrist with 2-3 scholarships over a 2 year period.
