Yea you're right, Wes Welker made Tom Brady a super star, not the other way around

Right now I have Bree's and Brady deadlocked with manning slightly behind.

I love Brees, but Brees ahead of Manning is laughable

Brady is doing it with a lot of no name WR's. Only one that was a great name was Randy Moss, and they lost that Super Bowl. Both of the Super Bowls lost by the Patriots were not on Brady as much as other people. Brady last year had arguably a very good game.

I still say the 07 Patriots would beat the 11 Giants and that the 11 Patriots beat the 07 Giants

Of course the 07 Pats beat the 07 Giants if the Giants dont get one less miracle that they did. Or if we dont decide to put Ellis "The Hobbit" Hobbs over Plax

But i digress

3 Super Bowl Rings =/= 1 Super Bowl Ring

That is the pinnacle of the sport.

Brady also has received 2 NFL MVPs.

Okay. Fine. He sucks.

Not as stupid as those who think he isn't top 3.

If that's the case then Brady > Brees is laughable. Going by numbers, Manning has played more seasons than drew and he didn't have to go to a 3-13 in the middle of his career.

It's a team accomplishment. Marino > Montana

Montana just played on some incredibly loaded teams. That's not to say Montana was not excellent...he was

Generally the numbers say Brees > Brady

Brady has more TDs
Brady has Less INTs
Higher Career QB Rating

Brees has 1k more passing yards and a slightly higher completion percentage

Theyve both played 11 seasons (taking out Bradys injury year and both of their rookie years)

So how exactly do the numbers say Brees >Brady?

Brady has played seven more games an has thrown 10 more TDs

Brady has a slight edge in YPA, it's really close

Brees has a better completion percentage

Brady has the higher QBR by 2 points which is a product of drew turning the ball over more. You took one statistical edge for Brady and doubled it

Brees has more yards

Brady has played with better skill players and really didnt take the leap until he got moss, welker and stallworth in the 2007 season

you see why I have them deadlocked. It's exhausting, we can do this all night. I won't say one is better than the other until it has all played out.

I do think they are both better than manning who has always played with awesome talent. Brady had success with antwain smith, Troy brown and David givens. Drew has gotten it done without 1 elite receiver but he has had 2 elite TE's but he's had both in their first 2 years of playing football.

shite is crazy. I'm tapping out. I think I make a solid case.

I wasnt trying to argue your original point, just that the stats dont really say Brees > Brady

If anything they say theyre pretty damn similar stats wise

Yards

Brees: 45,919
Brady: 44,806

So close that this is almost a wash.

TDS

Brees: 324
Brady: 334

Pretty much a wash also since it's so close. Brady throws a td 5.6% and Brees is 5.3%. Pretty close.

Completion Percentage

Brady: 63.7
Brees: 65.6

2 percentage points in a career is a pretty big deal, so that's Brees.

Career Rating

Brady: 96.4
Brees: 94.3

Again, in a career 2 points can be a big deal, so that goes to Brady.

Int-

Brady:123
Brees: 165

Brady by a wide margin. Not to mention Brady's int % is 2.1% and Brees is 2.7%. Not a huge difference but its something.

I see, as you said, that they are pretty close in most things. Brady does seem to have a slight edge in those things though. Now I don't think SB wins are the end all be all in judging a qb, but in a case like this it can mean something. Brady is consistently in the playoffs and has won 3 SBs. Since they are so close statistically, I think the career wins and playoff wins and all of that gives Brady the edge.

Drew actually has the higher TD% drew throws 1.9 TDs a game. Brady throws 1.8

I dot give anyone an edge in SBs. Drew could win another and it flips te conversation. Brady won 3 Super Bowls playing able average QB with awesome defenses and an awesome coaching staff. Those were complete teams.

If you have to use that as a tie breaker than brees>Brady isn't as people seem to think

We're already breaking down the stats so QBR is irrelevant.

Well, actually Brady's is higher if you are going by attempts, which might be a fairer way to judge it in IMO. At least at this stage in their careers since Drew has more attempts than Brady.

When talking about GOAT, you have to include their legacy, whether it fits your arguement or not

You cant just throw out 9 AFC East Championships, 7 AFC Championship game appearances, 5 AFC Championships, and 3 SB rings.

I agree, especially considering their stats are so close. I realize these are team stats, but he was a part of those teams and a big reason they went to and/or won a lot of those games.

The play to cap off Brees Super Bowl was Porters INT for a TD.

Many factors went into that game that weren't Brees
