Back when I was a a kid, I had a family friend who use to caddie at the Freeport Mcdermott Classic in New Orleans (which is now the Zurich). My family went to dinner at his house one night and I had a "No Fear" ball cap on that had the eyes on the back of it. He said he wanted it and would trade me any of his autographed hats; except for Jack. I decided on a hat that has Ben Crenshaw, Ernie Els, and the late Payne Stewart's autographs on it. This was right after Ernie had won his second U.S. Open. I have kept the hat in great shape over the years and since Ernie is in contention after round one this week, it got me thinking what the hat could be worth. I would never let it go but am curious. Does anyone know where I could have it appraised in the New Orleans area?

For your laughing pleasure, below is a hat that was similar to what I gave him. Even trade?

I'm slowly coming to that realization. Win some lose some

There isn't an autograph appraiser in New Orleans, that I'm aware of.

You could check eBay's current and completed auctions for an idea.

There's a hat signed by Stewart, Els and John Daly that's listed at $150 that hasn't sold for a few listings.

Multiple signatures on an item actually decrease the value of item in most instances, unless you have (for example) a bat signed by EVERY member of the 500 HR club, or a basketball with ALL members of the 1992 Dream Team. Otherwise, single signed items are more valuable. Multiple signed items with three random signers on it almost always carry no premium.

My guess is with PSA/DNA authentication and some patience you could get $100ish for it pretty readily.
