Big match up in Hammond tonight between SELU & Nicholls State for the conference championship, and a playoff berth. Nicholls has been competing at a high level for a few years now and has a stud at QB- Chase Fourcade. Selu is ahead of schedule & has been consistent, but do they have enough to pull it off and win the river bell?

Series is tied 14-14. Strawberry stadium should be electric tonight.

Nicholls wins this game. They have a senior class that has made history and won more games than any group in history. I do think it will come down to the very end though.

And don’t think Southeastern has forgotten what happened last year. Colonels win it close 31-28

If Virgil limits his turnovers the Lions roll. Ferlando Jordan with a late pick 6 to seal it, and the River Bell comes to its rightful home.

At that time yes. Just think where the program would be at if Bernardi hired Rebowe after firing Thomas instead of hiring Stubbs.

Better get your licks in now.

I think Sterlin Gilbert was the right hire at McNeese will be a 7 win team in a transition year with a mediocre QB.

I’m excited to see where it goes from here. They did a much better job than I thought they would do over the year. They’ve improved in spots and I really think the future is bright once Gilbert’s procedures and recruits are all set where they need to be.

I think Scelfo at SELU is doing a great job as well. He’s taking advantage of recruiting players out of his own backyard (River Parish & Nola), and also creating a winning culture. The SLC is rlly competitive so it’s nice to see two LA teams play for the championship. Just shows you how much talent is available in LA at all levels of college football.

Totally fake news. Thib might be the worst college town in LA, and Hammond may be one of the best in the second tier (obviously Baton Rouge, NOLA, and Laffy are tier 1).

Can someone enlighten me on how SLU uses the two QB system? Do they start Virgil and if he struggles bring in Kelley?

It is pretty close to the way Florida used to use Leak and Tebow. Primarily Kelley is a runner, but he has thrown in normal designed passes a good bit. I still prefer Virgil get most of the snaps, but if he throws 1 INT he will throw 3, that's where having Kelley comes in handy.

Colonels finally getting healthy again at the back end of the season. Everyone’s talking about southeastern’s wining streak but Nicholls is on a three game streak themselves. Colonels in a close one 34-30 as long as Fourcade takes care of the ball.
