I would love to see a stat on historically good Louisiana football programs vs. out of state schools. I am pretty sure the record would be well in Louisianans favor.
However, I am not so sure that the biggest of stages (games on espn) has treated these teams well (ex. Springdale and de la salle vs. evangel) but I could be wrong.

Tell them to look a little further west.

Katy, Tx and Euless Trinity are as good as anyone in high school football

I can think of 7-8 times WM played Mississippi teams, 3 of whom won state that year. WM has never lost.

They have also never played THE U (South Panola) before.

South Panola would hang with any of them. Max Preps predicts South Panola would beat Euless Trinity FWIW.

In all reality this is true. Texas has their own set of HS football rules, they dont go by the NFHS rules

In Texas you can return kicks from the end zone, and they use NCAA rules.

What? WM is in negotiations with Hoover to play next year. The only opening Hoover had was their first game. Their first game is the week of the jamboree for WM. WM has asked the LHSAA to allow them to play the game and I haven't heard whether they have been approved or not. As far as the Mississippi teams being weak, Clarksdale was in the 4A title the year WM played them as well as Moss Point won 5A that year. They were also nationally ranked with their only loss being to WM.

WM players were getting hurt due to blocks below the waist. Texas plays by NCAA rules. Louisiana plays be National Federation Rules.

USP would wipe the field clean with WMHS, JC, Evangel, you name it. It wouldn't even be fair.

USP would wipe the field against JC and Evangel. Evangel isnt any good any more, and Panola would just physically dominate JC.

WM/SP would be an epic game. Hell I may even go to it next year.

I think this is the game South Panola has just agreed to play.

The LHSAA is usually pretty rigid with the rules. I doubt they would let WM play a full game the week of the jamboree. I know WM was trying to get this game scheduled.

In 2000? Hmmm, I didn't know that. I'll ask tonight at the game about Hoover wanting to play WM pre-2000.

you can't block below the waist in La? that's odd. and yeah, Texas does go by NCAA rules, i think that's the way all high schools should play. what are the major differences in NFHS rules and NCAA?

They have played in the Shreveport district since Neville and Bastrop ran off to 4A. They did that in 2000.
