Nobody with a smartphone needs to watch SportsCenter anymore. It's outdated.

Right now the only fresh, watchable content ESPN has is their CFB coverage. One wonders how much longer before FS1 starts poaching their best from there as well.

Men. The ESPN brand is bigger than the personalities. Everyone is ultimately replaceable.

Can't tell if there's sarcasm there or not. FS1 is making ESPN more watchable for me. Cowturd, Bayless and now Broussard. Plus Simmons left as well for his failed own agenda.

Windhorst will probably be next. FS1 will pay more and those buffets aren't getting any cheaper

No, they're not. Do they even have any type of sportscenter shows anymore? Just ten pti type shows with the worst from ESPN.
Yeah that comment is pretty funny, you can't say ESPN is bad and turn around and say FS1 is good. He'll they get all their shite/people from ESPN

If FS1 can just poach Jamele Hill and Stephen A Smith, ESPN may become watchable again.

ESPN wasn't bad before. FS1 is slowly getting stronger and stronger because they're poaching ESPN's biggest names. You can pretend that nobody listens to Cowherd, Simmons or Bayless but the numbers don't lie. When they leave, rating go down.

I'm not making this shite up and it's not just me saying it.

The changes have not been good for ESPN’s ratings. “First Take,” which kept Stephen A. Smith and brought in Max Kellerman to replace Bayless, averaged around 325,000 viewers between Sept. 6 and Oct. 6, a nearly 30 percent drop in viewership versus last year, according to Sports Illustrated.

FS1 viewership isn't blowing doors down right now, but if they keep bringing in top names, it's only a matter of time. They have to build their brand up.

People listen to Cowherd's radio show but ESPN doesn't care that much about radio. Nobody watches Cowherd's FS1 shows. Simmons is more of a hit for ESPN.com. He was only on ESPN tv for the Grantland basketball hour.

Top names don't mean much for a sports network. SVP is about the only personality ESPN has that moves the TV needle and he shits on FS1 all the time.
Broadcast rights to sporting events move the needle.

1. ratings are going down for everyone
2. correlation is not causation. Cord cutting and content have way more to do with it than these perconalities.
3. "FS1 viewership isn't blowing doors down right now" Damn right it isn't; that novelty has worn off and even the people trying to make the switch always end up having ESPN in the background because that is what they are used to.

Skip Bayliss, Cowturd, and now this lying sack of crap. You think this makes ESPN worse and FS1 better?

Meh,10 years ago or so I might have cared one way or another if an annoying personality left ESPN, but now I don't watch ESPN for anything other than the actual games. I get all my pregame and post game from online. It's sad. Back then I would watch ATH, PTI, and NFL primetime. My TV stayed on ESPN more often than not after I got off work. Now between the SJW BS and the general decline in the quality of non game programming I don't even care to watch unless there is a game I want to watch on one of there channels.

So people with smartphones don't need the highlights, they need the topic of the highlights with two guys pretending to argue about them? That's so fresh.

No because they have all the highlights, stats and post game pressers at their fingertips. The ESPN app is a thousand times more useful than SportsCenter.

In the 80s 90s and 2000s, SportsCenter was perfect. That's why it became a staple of sports. It's just not needed or really wanted anymore.
