i used to think Lewis Hamilton was just a product of a great system, that half of the drivers on the grid could have the same success with the same opportunity. but since his move to mercedes i've really been paying attention to his driving, and i got to tell you, i really do believe now that he's one of the greatest of all time. he's absolutely relentless on the track, he trains like a madman and he's got all the natural ability in the world.

i think in his earlier years i got turned off by the flash and the bling and all, but he's done a lot of growing up and it's given me the opportunity to look at him objectively as a driver.

How's he do in the St. Pete Grand Prix?

I know nothing about racing but had a blast.

Oh a drivers' girlfriends are something else..

He's definitely one of the best ever. But I'm not sure that his work at Mercedes proves anything. What he did at McLaren cemented his legacy IMO. Especially in 2007 when he proved himself superior to Alonso.

Every time I try to get past all of that, I remember he has his nose pierced.

I'm a huge Lewis fan. Conveniently started following F1 his rookie season.

I honestly love that he's flashy off the track. He's hyper focused and competitive on track, but I think it pisses off the sport's blue bloods that he lives like a pop star on off weekends and then trashes the rest of the field with ease.

I'm not a fan of Hamilton but I don't dislike him. The best part about him to me is the fact that he acts like what I imagine all F1 drivers should be.

The way he dresses though, kinda cracks me up. Especially the nose piercing.

BTW this is his latest conquest apparently.

He is really good. I would probably do the same stuff off track sans nose and ear piercings.

Him and Seb are making this year good to watch.

He has a chance now that Rosberg has retired.

Obviously a huge HAM fan, one of the greatest ever is hard to argue. In that tier just below the greatests ever, no doubt.

I think time tells more in F1 than can be determined in the present.

He lives like I assume a lot of old F1 guys did. You have Brady's then you have Manning's. Guys who can't live without the sport even once they can't drive, see Lauda/Manning. Then you have guys who love the sport, but you know will walk away one day HAM/Brady. Life is flashy because they love to live life.

When he leaves he will be respected. Hopefully he stays around long enough to let Liberty rebuild F1 around his image. Other than that it is a lot of rich daddy-boys taking over the sport right now.

he really has surpassed what I expected. not in the schumacher, lauda, stewart realm but I definitely believe hes the best of this era. thought he was a flash in the pan but the guy is a phenomenal driver and his sustained success is a testament to that.
