Miss a game....they are taking tickets back

Sell them online and not through league resale shop....taking ticket rights back

Already starting to blow up in their face.

LSU football should do this, your ticket doesn't get scanned in, give em back

1) That really sucks that Denver just assumed people didn't go to games because they weren't 'loyal' or were just trying to make some extra cash off the tickets.

2) I bet from now on you'll see a lot more people reselling their tix via cash and not online.

3) Outside of a little bit of bad PR, I don't think it has backfired. It sounds like they've got plenty of people ready to jump on those seats.

That's awful. Work, prior engagement, sick, family emergency...doesn't matter? I'd cancel my tickets out of spite.

I agree. That being said, at least they are trying to do something to get rid of piece of fricking shite ticket resellers. I hate them with my entire soul, and live events are rife with them nowadays. Alejandro can EAD.

Your first statement is not true at all.

They are only taking tickets from those who did not attend any games in 2016. Also, those who lost their tickets had the option to appeal and each case was determined on individual merit. Exceptions were made with actual health issues and military service.

This only took tickets from ticket brokers. Those who lost tickets had a history of selling their tickets for years. This is a good thing.

From the link

Several Denver Broncos season-ticket holders who did not attend a game during the 2016 season had their seats revoked

Big difference in the implications. They aren't targeting people who only missed one game or sold their tickets to only 1 game. That would be insane. They'd have to purge over half their season ticket holders if that was the standard.

They are targeting people who missed every single game or sold all of there tickets for last year. The guy who has the issue with the lungs has sold every single ticket for 3 years and probably would have done the same this year. Sucks for him, but it sounds like he got what he paid for

The interviewed people are liars. The ticket office has all the data. Maybe the collapsed lung cost that guy 2016, but not the other three years.

The other guy is from Chicago.

Part of me wishes all of the old couples in Bryant Denny would have their tickets stripped.

One season-ticket holder since 1977 cited lung surgery as his reason. Another out-of-town fan sold his tickets to support his cancer-stricken mother who has since died. All had their tickets revoked going forward despite their pleas to the team.

I'm in favor of it.

It says if you didn't attend many of the games and sold the majority of the tickets on the secondary market this is the consequences you face. One guy sold the majority of them for 3 years. This seems reasonable.

I know the Saints have also warned about selling through unofficial means. Teams are not going to let you profit off of them. Especially when there's so many other fans who want those tickets.

If the waiting list is actually that large, they need to move the tickets around.

I wish would stop lining up to pay for these tickets, jerseys, etc.

Maybe then the owners, commissioners would get their heads out of their asses. The same type of shite is happening in college ball and it sucks. The put the fan experience aside just make or save a couple bucks.

If I lived in a state or town where my tax dollars subsidized the stadium I would be livid.

Kinda sounds like that's exactly what they're doing here.

Not allowing season ticket holders to miss an entire season's worth of games and/or sell their tickets online and not through the proper channels.

Why?

It seems entirely reasonable to revoke season tickets for people who never show up to games.

No one is taking away their right to buy a ticket, they can still go to games. They just lose their right to the seats they had, I don't see the big issue.

I thoroughly enjoy living in a city that has pro sports teams. I don't know about Minute Maid and Toyota Center but the NRG taxes that raised the money were hotel and car rental taxes. If you live here, those things really don't impact you

Those are hotel and rental car taxes that could be going to something else. I have totally soured recently on tax dollars going to pay for billionaires stadiums.

The more I think about it I am torn because way to many tickets go to ticket brokers.
