Meh. I would put gumps #1. Most of their titles are after 1970. I don't put a lot of stock in stats before black people were allowed to play.

So why would you put gumps #1 - half their fraud titles were won playing against WHITE GUYS!!!!

In a country-club SEC league in the 60's and early 70's - Bear Bryant's heyday! He played in a segregated league.

Congrats.

Bama is the "white football GOAT" - while everyone else played FAR better competition.

There's a reason Bama dominated the SEC but stunk outside of it from 1965-1973.

The SEC sucked...because it was pasty.

Great now...but sucked back then compared to the Big10 or Pac10...you know the beatdowns USC and Notre Dame and Ohio State gave Bama.

Your post is pretty myopic - but it's become a custom on here to ignore the segregated history of the SEC.

Bama won white titles in the 60's and then shared titles in the 70's - with one team that beat them...and another that beat them in the 60's - ND.

Bama's glory days are now...half their history is total crap.

Claiming shared titles to teams they lost to...

Racking up poll votes in an unathletic league.

Did he say Ohio State gave Alabama beat downs?

I think we've only played a couple of times and lost both games.

Three times. Looks like two of them were excellent games but Bama won. The third was the Woody vs Bear game that we didn't belong in.

During Bear Bryant's heyday...

1965-1974...the only team Bama beat in a bowl game was another SEC team and slow-arse Nebraska.

They lost to everyone else...including 10 losses in a row.

They plowed through the regular season against the crappy white SEC...and then get bounced in their bowl game.

10 losses - OOC post-season.

And regular season? Bama had something like a .870% win percentage against the SEC whiteys...but a %.281 win percentage against teams outside the SEC.

We all know...Bear was the king of the SEC.

That doesn't mean a whole lot historically - from what we know.

He's a retard. He spouted off some bullshite on the first page. It was all categorically proven false and he just disappeared. Then he comes back and goes apeshit with the most absurdly biased tirade...against an Auburn fan who dared say something positive about Alabama.

That's the best part about this guy, he hates us even more than any Auburn or LSU fan.

He hates us too. I don't get him at all.

You know for a Bama fan you're not that bad.

You guys are 5-2 against USC all time. 2-5 vs Notre Dame so against those teams Alabama is 10-7 overall. Such "beat downs".

The NCAA recognizes Bama with 10. Four have been since SEC expansion in 1992. We also went back to back in 78 and 79 which were both after segregation. So 6/10 were easily after.

Bama also arguably got screwed in

1977- highest ranked team in both polls to win their bowl game. Leapfrogged by ND which lost to a common opponent Bama defeated.

1975- finished 2nd in both polls behind Oklahoma. Both were 1 loss teams.

1966- it's been discussed at great length.

1945- finished 10-0 Rose bowl champs and 3rd ranked behind Army and 2nd ranked Navy (7-1-1). Totally legit.

1936- 4th ranked in the final AP poll with a record of 8-0-1. All three teams ahead of them finished with at least 1 loss.

There are 3 elites shouldn't be argued (OU, USC, Bama). I'm fine with anyone ranking those in any order, but objectively they have to be the top 3.

Ehh, Ohio State has a better argument than USC. I'm not the biggest Buckeye fan, but objectively they've been more consistently dominant than USC.

Fair enough. I was counting the AP and Coaches.

There hasn't been a uniform process to select a champion up until recently.

I get people will point to a certain year and say this team(usually bama) didn't deserve it. They never acknowledge we have been screwed out of as many if not more than they can subtract.

There isn't a real effort to ever debunk any other team either. You can dig into ND, USC, OU, and any other team and cut them down using the same arguments.

No doubt. For example, Oklahoma lost their bowl in 50 and was banned from playing in one in 74, but they still got the AP in both (and the Coaches in 50).

Edit: Notre Dame refused to play in bowls until the late 60's.

ND got 1977 over us the same way Miami got 1983 over Auburn.

ND and Michigan State split 1966 with a 9-0-1 record to our 11-0. We started the year #1 and were going for 3 straight.

Michigan State has the 1965 Coaches trophy and Bama has the AP. MSU lost their bowl game. The only 2 titles they have should be in Tuscaloosa right now.

Tennessee lost their bowl game for the title they won in the 50's.

1936 Minnesota team went 8-1 and won the AP. Northwestern was the B1G conference champ.

I wish it would have been clear cut from the beginning but alas.
