I still don't get how Baton Rouge doesn't have any minor league sports teams, yet cities like Biloxi, Montgomery, Chattanooga, etc. have minor league baseball.

LSU athletics would probably make it tough for minor league teams to draw crowds.

Get a minor league team called the "Baton Rouge LSU's." Problem solved.

There is a documentary about The Portland Mavericks, a minor league team owned in the '70s by western actor (Clem the deputy on Bonanza) Bing Russell (Kurt is his son). Jim Bouton played there for awhile during his comeback.

The documentary can be found online, if you look

I can't speak for the other cities, but Biloxi is a HUGE tourist destination. I'm curious as to why it took them so long to get a team. I guess it's a good thing they'd didnt have a team when Katrina hit, but they probably should have had one a long time before then.

I've made that same statement many times while discussing this same topic over the years. It's the only way it would work, and they would have to be in the league championship every year.

It would be awesome if they could figure out away to add enough temporary seats to still the SEC tourny away from Hoover.
