The course looks great.

I have it on decent word that the Houston golf association is trying to take over memorial and move the open there. I doubt it's going to happpen though

I've got a feeling this will be the final round of the tournament with the weather forecast tomorrow and the Masters coming up next week.

It left a sour taste to me cause I got to play it last year and they were changing the grass. It was in very rough shape but it's obviously still nicer than what I am use too.

I got the info from the pro at memorial and my dad's golfing buddy heard the same thing. The hga has its eye on it for sure but maybe not for the open

I hope it isn't true cause memorial is not only a terrible place to host a tourney, it's also a fantastic public golf course that The HGC will frick up and drive the price up.

The traffic would be a nightmare

Rickie is one fire. Watching them come in the 18th. Weather is holding off for now, tomorrow will be interesting.

Just heard they're teeing off 1 and 10 at 7:15 tomorrow

I like their optimism but I don't see it working out

They've been talking about that for 2 years now. The contract renewal with GC of Houston is coming up and I'm starting to think the Memorial move isn't going to happen.

I have heard from numerous people that next year will be somewhere else. Where is a debate.

I don't see them getting a round in tomorrow even if they tee off at early.

Any word on what it will be called next year? From what I understand this is the last year that Shell is sponsoring it.

They should move it to Trump National at Doral.

I'm hearing United Airlines will be the sponsor.

ETA... Sylvester Turner is pushing for the tournament to be moved to Hermann Park.

Memorial could never host it. Parking, spectator, skyboxes, practice area, etc would all have to be redone

Heard from numerous sources Shell is out.

The talk is Tillman Fertita wants the sponsorship. What he will want to name it is unknown. Some saying after the Golden Nugget casino and dome saying Landry's. There is also talk that he is starting a new restaurant conglomerate and the name of that company will be the named sponsor.

If Tillman gets it, it should be called "The Shitty Chain Restaurant Houston Open".

I think you might be thinking of Memorial and not Herman. Herman is a step up from a goat ranch but nowhere it is nowhere near a PGA caliber course.

Either way Memorial doesn't have the infrastructure to host.
