Sure it's a possibility. At times in the past, a near certainty. This season however, it is not plausible. What's happening is confirmation bias.

Heat/Thunder finals - RIGGED
no Heat/Thunder finals - IGNORE
Lakers in finals - RIGGED
no Lakers in finals - IGNORE
ECF goes to 7 games - RIGGED
WCF is a sweep - IGNORE
Heat win NBA Title in 4, 5, or 6 - RIGGED
Heat don't. - IGNORE
NBA Finals goes to 7 - RIGGED

And there's just absolutely no way to say the refs rigged it tonight. How did they know Allen would make the three? How did they know Bosh would block Parker and Green? How did they know Kawhi would miss a free throw? Any of these don't happen, and the Spurs win tonight. And there was absolutely no way the refs could make those things happen.

all valid questions it's not so much a possession by possession rigging, they (the refs) just seem to dictate the pace throughout the game...it's the pulse of the game, not necessarily a single shot..I appreciate the banter...I have to hit the hay, got to be up early for work....you appear to be a high caliber person....

There have only been 5 NBA Finals series go to 7 games in the past 33 years.

Just last year Miami beat Durant and the Thunder 4-1.

If the NBA rigs their NBA Finals to go to 7 games so that they can make more money, they are doing an extremely shitty job.

Good point.

Stern is corrupt. He knows that more games equals more money. That's why, throughout his time as commissioner (almost 30 years now), FIVE finals series have gone 7 games. If he wasn't so into the drama and the money, that number would easily be zero.

They don't. They rig games to make $ by expanding the game. First they did it with MJ. Then they did it to make Shaq and Kobe stars, they couldn't have them lose to the Kings(I am a Laker fan and witnessed the game 6 live and still admit it). Now their goals are to make LeBron a marketing star like MJ was and also expand the game internationally. If the Heat win they have their next MJ, if the Spurs win they expand the game internationally because of all of the international players. Its ALL fixed. Its not fixed for gambling but fixed for corporations and to expand the game worldwide. Its just smart business.
