Both of the teams targeting Herman are in meltdown.

Although if it was leaked by some UT booster it could just turn Herman off more.
Thinking about it seems more likely that some rouge booster did it. UT seems like a real shite show. Herman and his agent already have a shite ton of leverage already.

There is zero logic behind this, he already has the leverage of potentially pursuing the Texas job. All this did was frick up his final game at Houston.

IF this is true...and he's soured on Texas, they only have ethemselves to blame. I would guess Herman's agent has told him to stay away from that cesspool.
They know they can get similar money and a more stable situation at LSU. I know LSU has its issues with boosters and AD too, but nobody is in the level of Texas. I would say this is kind of a no Brainer for him.

It's easier to win at Texas but the politics surrounding the job are just awful...money will be the same and LSU would seem to be more of a stable situation.

I'm fairly certain he is saying the Big 12 is weaker, so all things equal, it's easier to achieve a better record there than at LSU, which is logical.
A big point no one seems to hammer on though is the landscape has changed dramatically since Mack Brown retired. Texas used to be the only (or main) game in town, but now there's A&M, TCU, and Baylor all doing well in Texas, along with the standard schools (OU, LSU, Arkansas, etc.) coming into Texas and poaching recruits.
It isn't a "Texas gets whomever they want in Texas" anymore, which should be a considerable factor for any coach considering being their HC.
