I was telling my Dad getting those two back is just like making a deadline deal IMO. Get a very good middle of the order bat and a back end of the bullpen arm in july.
There is something to be said about Matheny this year as well. I have been very impressed at his growth as a manager.

Just curious about his story, which I guess I could google. Like how long has he been in the system and do we feel he's going to stick with the team or get sent back?

He'll get sent back soon, career minor leaguer, .255 career average. Turns 28 in Sept. Nothing to see really.

Oh gotcha.
We drafted him in the mid 2000's. Has had bad plate discipline and strikes out a whole metric shite ton. Has a ton of pop though. Not sure he has that figured out quite frankly but he can mash.
