The teams I care about have 11/12 games on TV.

Why are people so excited that the SEC will take games that would already be televised and put them on the SEC network?

Because some of us actually want to watch stuff about our teams and the SEC other than 12 times a year.

In terms of viewership millions more watch SEC football vs mens BBall or other televised events.

Sure, there are fanatics that watch every event, but ratings don't lie.

Probably the people who would be signing up for SECN, no?

ETA: It's not exciting because we finally get to watch the quarterfinals of the womens tennis tourney. It's exciting because we will have SEC sports YEAR ROUND. If you like the SEC, at all, it seems like having 14 saturdays a year to enjoy by only watching football (which it seems like you are in that position) would pale in comparison to having game replays, talk shows, lookaheads, etc. 12 months of the year. In addition to getting lots more televised basketball and baseball games.

Best thing about the network for me is being able to watch all the basketball/baseball games that I couldn't before.

Outside of football and basketball, I really don't care to watch any of the other sports unless we start having men's soccer and hockey.

thats fine. then again they're not basing the launch of the network off of one person's viewing habits.

Most agree, but in the dog days of summer when there's not shite going on I'd absolutely enjoy turning on teh network and seeing some classic SEC game from the past few years.

You can do that without the operating costs of a 24/7 network.

Taking a Arkansas at Auburn game to the SEC network when it would have already been televised is just
using the channel to force viewers to buy yet another channel on their already bloated tv channel lineup.
