Scotland Golf Trip

Overrated.

been three times to scotland and booked all of them myself, though we didn't try to play every Open course each time ... most irish courses will be 'bookable' right now for next year, as well as most scottish courses ... i think it's too late to book the old course yourself, but you'll have to check on that ... if you're going to book it, you'll need to send it in right now ...

if you're going to get a group to go, you'll have to choose friends you know will go ... most folks talk a good talk when a trip is brought up, but when it's time to pay green fees, they back out ... rule of thumb that cannot be overlooked, esp since some courses will only book foursomes ... only real solid piece of advice is to allow a break every 3 days or so ... your legs/feet (esp the feet) are going to need it since it's walking only on just about every course ... driving isn't that big a deal over there, so you don't absolutely need to hire a driver ... if booking yourself, try to find cottages and rentals in small towns close to a central area between the courses you want to play ... it'll be cheaper, they all have a pub, and you can make some nice friendships with the locals instead of staying at expensive hotels ... itinerary depends on how long you can stay ...
