Don't know if it's been mentioned yet, but Sonnen was sentenced the other day. 2 years probabtion , $10,000 fine and had his real estate liscence revoked.

Well I guess his political career is over.

Couture, who turns 48 in June, holds UFC records for most title reigns (six) and most championship fights (15). With his win versus Tim Sylvia in March 2007 -- his comeback fight after retiring for 13 months -- Couture, at the age of 43, became the oldest fighter to win a UFC title.

yeah, 48

At that age it is definitely time to stop getting punched in the face

Thank God.... I like Randy, but I'm tired of him. Lets be honest Randy hasn't be relevant since he beat Gonzaga.

Would love for Randy to win this fight. I actually think he has a shot in this. Machida, to me, is a 100% strategy fighter. He won't beat Randy just because he does weird Karate elusive stuff IMO. I'm picking Lyoto to win this, but I think Randy will give him a good fight. Might go the distance.

Bad news for Art Jimmerson, Dan Severn and old-school MMA fans everywhere. Royce Gracie, despite claiming he was in negotiations to return to the Octagon at UFC Rio on August 27, will NOT be on the card when the promotion returns to Brazil, according to President Dana White (via MMAFighting.com). Gracie recently hinted at wanting a rematch against Matt Hughes but White has "no intentions on offering him a fight."

What's the deal with White not giving Royce this fight. I know it was a lop sided fight last time but who do you give to Royce?

I can completely understand why they wouldnt offer Royce a fight. He hasn't fought in nearly 5 years, his last fight he got busted for PEDs and the fight before that he got mutilated by Hughes. The last REAL win he had was against Akebono.... And let's be honest... That's not really even impressive

I'd take pretty much anyone they put in there with Royce at this time. The game had passed him up when Matt beat him in the last fight, it would only be worse now IMO. I do think Dana should give him whatever he wants though, the guy was the original champ.

Hmm, I haven't been paying attention... didn't realize he got nailed for PED use

But it is pretty much SOP for Brazilian fighters isn't it?
