It sucks for sure. But having Parsons as your 4th best player is awesome

Awesome starting 4 there, no doubt.

Depth will be huge question almost immediately though.

Not to mention Bosh is not worth 22M a year or whatever they're talking

That remains to be seen. He's still really good, and he was awesome in Toronto.

I watched Miami play the last 4 years. Bosh is good. But not 80M over 4 years good. Or whatever the deal is.

Of course he is. Everyone forgets what he was when he was at Toronto, and the fact that he was playing out of position for Miami seeing as he had to play bigger underneath the basket. He can do exactly what he did at Toronto in Houston.

Exactly why your opinion is invalid, because he played differently in Toronto.

Well that cast sounds great and all next to LeBron...except that cast finished with the 1st overall pick two years in a row without LeBron IN THE EAST.

You do realize that there is a draft lottery right?

We move Terrence Jones to the bench which gives us a good bench guy, likely sign Jordan Hill, and I'd imagine there will be veterans out there looking to sign with us for a championship run.

He's also 4 years older and hit 30. Everyone assuming Houston gets Toronto Bosh is kidding themselves. Even if they get close, they don't get that player.

I realize that, and you realize that the worse your record is, then the better your odds are at winning said lottery, right? Not a coincidence the Cavs have had 1st overall pick 3/4 last 4 years, they have been terrible since LeBron left.

No, Cleveland is just lucky. One of those years they won it with the Clippers pick. Last year they were lucky also.

So a position change warrants a max deal.

Not to mention he's aged now as well.

Maybe he proves me wrong, but I don't think he's worth 20M.

Lebron is worth 20M. KD is worth 20M. Bosh isn't.

I'm not saying they are getting Toronto Bosh. I'm saying his Miami performance is not entirely indicative of how he'll perform with Houston. He's typically not injured, and does not subject himself to much contact in his style of play. He's going to fit better with Houston than he ever did with Miami.

Well he would have been maxed in Miami if he could have. He passed max deals at other places before he signed with Miami. His position remained the same, but what he was asked to do in Miami was clearly diff from what he had done the first 8 years of his career, although he still kept many aspects of his game intact. Its not like the Rockets are asking him to play a position he's never played before.

Toronto Bosh is barely worth 20M

I'm not disputing any of this. I'm simply saying max deals are for the Lebrons and KD's of the world. Obviously Bosh isn't that level of a player.

eta imo

Your opinion is invalid if you think you are getting the same Chris Bosh who played in Toronto.

the Cavs were actually in playoff contention late last yr. not that that's saying a bunch in the East, but they weren't the Sixers or Bucks. they have a solid core that could use the type of influence Lebron will bring. I don't think it'd be at all crazy if they won 15-20 more games. they're clearly the big winners today.

If you take the entire list of players with max deals in the NBA, you will realize Bosh getting a max deal is just right.

Guys making $20 million +

Joe Johnson (33 yrs old)
Dirk Nowitzki (made that money until 35 yrs old)
Kobe Bryant (35 yrs old-2 yrs being injured)
Carmelo Anthony will get max for 5 years from NYK @ 30 years old
