Those are ugly. The ones UH wore a few weeks ago were awesome.

I liked the UH ones better. But also none of the players who will be wearing them were even alive when the Oilers were in Houston.

Can we have that board idiot come in and argue why the Oilers name belongs in Tennessee?

It's been long enough. NFL should bring back the Houston Oilers.

Damn you! I’d be fine with the Houston Cobalters or Houston Lithiumers, but NEVER Houston Oilers. Why do you hate the earth?

Rice is Houston’s father this year so they can wear what they want on the weekends

Crazy all this love years later. The last several years that the Oilers were in Houston, no one gave a damn about them.

I'm starting to wonder if the Texans are funding these alternate "Oilers" uniforms as a way to stick it to the Titans.

These are just teasers to reiterate the fact that the goddamn Oilers are dead and are never coming back. Love ya blue.

That’s not true. They were sick of Bud Adams’ sorry arse. He bitched for more football seating in the Astrodome and he got it in 1989. Then he started demanding a new stadium, all while the Oilers entered a rebuilding phase after the team got old and expensive. Some people never forgave him for running off Bum Phillips in 1980 because Phillips was the best head coach the Oilers ever had.

its a open "secret" that the Oiler( Columbia )Blue unis and the Astros Tequilla Sunrise are favored by the youth/ buying public

The Astros are universally regarded as a well-run team well-run franchise friendly to the community they cooperate with local governments and charities in at least making a good show of doing right

The Texans meanwhile are recognized to be buffoonish backwards greedy fricks with just a little hint of racism

Even the Texans have gotten to the point where they're conceding this and they have announced publicly that they plan to introduce a new uniform element or perhaps completely re imagine the uniforms and they are going to use a color that they call Houston blue

The Rockets used it Tillman talks about using it more often

U of H actually has blue as a part of their uniform scheme it's just a Navy blue by the way if you did not know this your verse of Houston Cougars got their name from an equipment manager who went to Washington State and just decided on his own he was going to paint the helmets red

my tailgating crew has for years used light blue in our signage T shirts, koozies
Rice has used light blue in the past few years in the athletic department with stadium signage seating promotions when I was on the advisory committee I made the push to use a mix of blue. The women's teams have been using a light shade of blue for several years now I think that there's a chance that next year's baseball team will be using shades of blue Perhaps similar to the tequila of Sunrise but it may refer to the moon and OWLS domination the night

So this is nothing new, just Rice stepping up the usage, in part as the move to AAC,, Im sure the appeal of Tulanes use of the color and the look on the field assisted

It's all about the recruits and the money and the image

the logo that started it all

its a St Arnolds bottle
