RGjr going to jail

quote:

Robert Griffin III’s father will spend the next few weekends in a Virginia jail after unsuccessfully trying to fight a speeding ticket.

A judge sentenced Robert Griffin Jr. Wednesday to 10 days in jail for driving 115 mph in 60 mph zone. The Redskins quarterback’s father was ticketed on eastbound I-64 near Hampton Roads Center Parkway at 6:15 a.m. on Aug. 2. He had pleaded not guilty to the charge of excessive speeding.

Griffin Jr., a retired Army Sergeant and Iraq War veteran who works for the Department of Veterans Affairs, will be allowed to serve his sentence on consecutive weekends, according to his lawyer, Benjamin Kavanagh of Colonial Law Group, who declined further comment. Griffin Jr. has declined to speak to the media since mid-2013, after a series of interviews in which he generated controversy with comments about the Redskins offense.

Virginia is notorious for their speeding ticket sentences.

115 mph is lethal on public roads. Jail time sounds right to me.

So are automatic assault rifles, but it sounds like the US Gov't paid him to carry one for a living.

Jail time for a speeding infraction is ridiculous, unless this is not the first offense.

The gov't should worry more about who actually gets certified to use the roads in the first place, rather than give fricking jail time to those that can't seem to follow the rules.

Virginia is not the state to screw around with the highway patrol. Been there and paid my fines.
