Reggie Bush expected to sign with Bills pending physical

The two sides have been in communication with one another for the better part of the last two weeks. Now free agent RB Reggie Bush and the Bills will meet face to face. Bush is making a free agent visit with Buffalo Monday.

Buffalo made an initial contract offer to Bush a little over a week before training camp. Bush chose to bide his time before making a decision. Now it appears the veteran running back is strongly considering the Bills as his next NFL club.

Bush is likely seen as a complementary option for the Bills' deep running back contingent. He would also be a likely candidate to move to the top of the depth chart as the team's punt returner.

A key part of a potential agreement would be Bush passing a physical. He tore his ACL last November in a freak slip and fall after running out of bounds on a play at the Edwards Jones dome in St. Louis.

Bush, 31, played last season for the San Francisco 49ers appearing in just five games. His previous two seasons were spent with the Detroit Lions as part of a committee offensive backfield.

The former number two overall pick in the 2006 NFL draft, Bush has just over 9,000 combined rushing and receiving yards in his career and 53 touchdowns.

Buffalo would be his fifth NFL club were he to sign with the Bills.
