not my fault the MSB derps bought into delusionist rumors from plebian blog postings
you use of Alinsky style ridicule does not enhance your position. I don't know what extereme positions you are using as your strawman, but the notion that teams like NC St and Va Tech would be targets for the SEC and FSU and Clemson targets for the BigXII was hardly far fetched delusions from derpsters (which i assume is anyone that disagrees with you).
The real derpsters would be the ACC for a) being weak enough to let Notre Dame just use them like a cheap whore and b) for just now figuring out they could use this posion pill.

Yeah, the ACC sure did make a derp move here.

The only way it survives is if everyone stays as they are right now. If the Big Ten tries to go to 16, the SEC will try for 16 as well. In the meantime, the Pac 12 would be stuck at 12 without going into the Big 12 again, and I just don't see that happening. The Pac 12 has nowhere else to go other than Texas

I'm guessing the ACC schools believe ESPN is going to give them a network so they don't lose valuable schools to Fox Sports partnered conferences like the Big 12 and Big Ten.
its really the only reason signed a GOR makes sense to do as an ACC school.

The SECR takes everything Clay Travis says as gospel truth. It's pathetic. I've been saying the entire time the ACC was surviving and the Big 12 was dying.
Clay Travis' position on expansion makes sense and is at least rooted in logic. That doesn't mean what it predicted will happen, because circumstances can change. Do you think this action by the ACC might be to prevent things like VT and NC ST joining the SEC from happening?

If the SEC does, in fact, add two more teams, it's going to be Oklahoma and Kansas/Oklahoma State
predictions like this are a million times worse the Clay Travis. Like him or not, he at least has access to credible sources. The idea that the SEC would had OU and Kansas makes no sense at all. Neither bring enough of a new market to justify adding them. Expanding the pie is the point of conference expansion, adding large states like Va and NC makes sense. Kn and Ok do not.

Seems like some ACC folks are pissed off their conference was the target of interest for being picked apart. I get that.
But when Maryland leaves the conference and we've seen major changes in the SEC, Big 12, and PAC 12 over the last couple years I'm not sure where the "was never going to happen" idea comes from. It very well could have happened IMO. It was just that North Carolina looked at their options and didn't like any of them all that much outside of the ACC.

I've had just as many predictions come true as Clay Travis- probably more because if IIRC he said FSU and Clemson were going to the Big 12 and I predicted they wouldn't.
It's just my prediction.... and where else would we turn to? The ACC isn't giving us a team.

When you can't debate on the merits, just use riduicule.
The problem with Clay Travis is his extreme SEC Centric view. (You are no better BTW with your ND centric view). The idea the SEC would try and add VT and NCSU makes a lot of sense for many reasons. That doesn't mean it would happen as Travis declared or that it was a better option for those schools but to act like it was never considered beyond some random blogs is the ultimate derp. If it wasn't a real possibilty, then why on earth would the ACC Presidents do what they did?

Yeah, the ACC saved themselves from destruction, and they shoudl be commended for that, but let's not pretend they weren't on the precipice. And, as a Maryland fan from childhood, I'm happy as hell to be out of the conference and in the ACC.
The ACC was making Maryland's "permanent rivals" Pitt and BC, two teams the Terps have almost no history with. Once you weaken the bonds of tradition, there's nothing holding you there. So what was Maryland's dollar figure?
One dollar more than what the ACC is paying.

It made sense from the SEC side- it just never made any sense from the other side, IMO

first clue would be after both Lvill and Nd joined.

or course it was never going to happen, that's why the ACC Presidents passed the measure, because there was no chance any of their members were being approached.

the SEC will be doing the same thing soon, I suppose we should believe they are on the verge of implosion as well.

right, by that logic the most stable conference in the last ten years is the Big East... they've had more teams join them than anyone else in that span

I really don't care about Clay Travis. A lot of what he predict was common sense that many people suggest long before he became famous. Lets not act like he was the first or only person to suggest VT and NCSU to the SEC.
Predicting the ACC would fight and survive is not exactly going out on a limb. I thought FSU and Clemson going to the BigXII was an interesting idea that might be good for those FB programs but never saw as inevitable. The BigXII has long been on shaky ground.

classic derp.
Lville and ND are two of the most stable athletic departments in the entire country, not plebian C-USA bottom feeders
