“At the end of the day, it was about getting to a public school with retirement, certification and better pay,” said Vice, who accepted the job Monday and told his players Tuesday. “It’s big-time (Class 5A) football.”

Another side note. Aaron is a good football Coach.

RHS isn't sinking as bad anymore. They are going through a school makeover and enrollment is picking back up again.

ASH is so bigtime that their head coach left to be O.C. at a mediocre Ruston program thats stuck in the sand and took his QB son with him. Ash will be lucky to get out of the first round this year.

You can't blame a person for taking a job that presents better opportunities. I wish him the best of luck.

If Ruston is "stuck in the sand" as you say, why would he leave a head coaching position to become an O.C.? Ruston is night and day a better program than ASH is! I think he left because he could become the head coach at Ruston whenever Paw Paw Leird finally hangs it up! Ruston is a sleeping giant and if they can get a coach that WILL NOT cave into playing the kids the parents want him to play; they can be a contender in 5A.

I take it you're a long tine local. What year did you graduate? Also, to back you up, ruston had 3 guys sign with d1 schools in football this year, and have as many nfl vets as any school in the state
