There’s no way this is all measured just by network self-reporting, right?

Correct

It’s just an approximation. In the 90s there were only so many Nielsen boxes around the country. They had a formula to calculate total viewership based off of the households that had a box

Now, anyone with a streaming device has a Nielsen opt out. We are all mostly being counted

Watching the Super Bowl from I-LVIII, it’s changed for me.

I used to watch from noon to end of post game. Now, tuned in at kickoff, turned it off after the td completion, which I called.

Read more during game. This changed for me about 10 years ago, when NFL turned into a flag football league dominated by offense and officials.

Football was popular to begin with, add in fantasy play years ago. Then the hammer of sports betting on phones has taken it to another level.

No idea, do you know? I know I saw Chris Jones crying during the anthem.

That point will fly over their heads.

Regardless, this isn't a surprise at all. The NFL picked up millions of new viewers this year in the female category. If Taylor's BF is playing, it will be a ratings boon.

I don’t know about anyone else, but the main draw for me was Tony Romo’s stellar analysis.

That is prolly what put it over the top…

CBS Sports' presentation of Super Bowl LVIII is the most-watched telecast in history with a total audience delivery of 123.4 million average viewers across platforms.
To put that in perspective, only 25 million viewers for the CFP Natty game this year.
