So calling him a mediocre WR like you did isn't really fair

Well it's not fair for people to be dogging Kendall Wright and Justin Hunter. A lot of people think they could be doing a lot better with a better QB.

No I'm not. Thomas performed with Tebow after he got healthy in 2011:

Even so, the switch came on in 2011.

He averaged 106 yards in the last 7 games of 2011

What was Demaryius Thomas doing before Manning? Being a mediocre WR. Now he's a top 5 WR. There are many WRs in this league that could be doing what he's doing in that offense.

He's 6'3 230 and runs a sub 4.4. Not to mention he came from Georgia Tech.

There aren't may WRs in this league who could do what he does

No one is dogging them, just saying they're probably league average as far as WR tandems go. I think that's a pretty fair assessment. Wright is a pretty solid possession WR but I don't see him being much more. Hunter would stand to benefit the most from a QB upgrade but his potential doesn't come close to someone like Thomas, who put up excellent numbers down the stretch with Tebow at QB

I don't have anything against Demaryius Thomas. I know the guy is talented. His play overall was mediocre though. There are a ton of skill position talents that need the right opportuinity to succeed though.

As well as he started to perform with Tebow, there's no way he does what he's doing now without Manning. Not a chance.

I'm not trying to turn this into a Demaryius Thomas debate, because I don't really know that we disagree. My point is that it's a mistake to say that Mett doesn't have sufficient talent around him. Wright has been playing well even with Locker/Whitehurst, and pretty much all NFL scouts agree that Hunter has a ton of upside.

Well, so what? League average talent at WR is more than sufficient to succeed. QB is the key variable.

Tennessee has good WRs, maybe even better than the Saints

I don't think anyone has said that. This entire debate got started when blkhawk said Mett has all the talent in the world around him. I guess whether or not you agree with that statement depends on how you define "all the talent in the world."

I think it's obvious that any player, Thomas included, will have better numbers with a QB like Manning.

That being said, I think it's obvious just watching him that he's a top 5 WR as well. His skill set jumps out at you.

You mentioned he was mediocre before Manning showed up, but not even talking about the QBs throwing to him, it was his 1st 2 seasons at a position that guys don't usually come in right away and put up monster numbers. Couple that with the QB situation, and I don't think it's fair to give Manning most of the credit for the difference in years 1 and 2 to now.

What a goober. Glad he's our goober though. Looks like Miles taught him a thing or two about NGAF about the media.

Well yeah, that was my entire point. I got the impression that some felt that there wasn't good enough talent in Tennessee for Mett to throw to. I think there is, and we can't conclude that the talent isn't there until they have some decent QB play.

Maybe Justin Hunter is someone that needs the right QB throwing to him, but Kendall Wright has been playing well even with Locker/Whitehurst. The talent is more than sufficient.

I never said that Manning deserves most of the credit for Demaryius Thomas. But there are lots of players that have eye popping talent, but it doesn't mean anything until they get the opportunity to showcase those talents.
