What kind of compensation do you think the coaches get for doing the show? Rampage doing it a second time around leads me to believe it ain't chump change.

Not saying I want a title fight for him because it's WAY too early, but I'd like to see Jon Jones step up into tougher competition

whatever they pay the coaches, it is miniscule compared to the residual benefit of all the face time they get.

I hope Rua kills Lyoto, Jackson kills Rashad, and Jackson gets some reveng on Rua. that's my perfect world

He's got Jake O'Brien at UFC 100 in what will be his 3rd fight in the octagon

I did not know this, thanks. What's the story on Jake O'Brien? Are they just feeding him another guy?

Strong wrestler. This is just his 2nd fight at LHW (used to be a HW). His best victory was against Heath Herring. Definitely a good challenge for Jones.

I know Forrest is slated for An Silva already, but I think Forrest deserves a shot at the title before Shogun does.

So Shogun knocks out two fighters with the combined age of 84 and gets a title shot. Nice.

Oh right, he knocked out Liddell. Yea, and who hasn't as of late?

Well if Page wants Evans, then I think Rua is the best guy since everyone else is locked up in another fight. I agree that Rua prolly needs one more fight but I'd rather him fight Lyoto then put Lyoto on TUF and read subtitles all show.

The opposing coach needs to be An Silva.

Ha ha...I hope he gets "netted" again. That was hilarious when Forrest "netted" him...on national television...

You have to consider his pre-UFC resume.

This is a good point. He was flat out sick in the Middle Grand Prix back in 2005.

From what i've seen of Shogun lately, I don't think he has a chance against Machida. However, if pre-UFC Shogun shows up, then it might be interesting.

Shogun probably won't win, but it will be interesting to see machida face someone that is dangerous from the distance machida likes to keep.

If Rampage doesn't want Machida, then I would see if a Forrest vs Machida, Anderson Silva vs Rampage would be possible. Rampage might actually take out Silva, I like his style vs him.

Im not sure if its that Rampage doesn't want Machida or he just wants Rashad that bad. That being said, if he beats Rashad then he'll probably get Machida next.

don't underestimate Dana's wanting to make Pride's poster boy look like complete shite and "punish" the guy who just KOed his buddy Chuck all in one fell swoop

IMO he could give a frick about fighting Rashad, he just thinks he will beat him. It is a pretty even fight IMO.

If dana is hoping to make Shogun look like shite, he isn't as smart as I thought. Shogun has a huge following, and a return to form would sell a shite load of ppvs. He is one of a handful of guys that could potentially carry a card.

The only thing about this fight that would make sense is if Dana doesn't think the old Shogun is coming back, so he's playing the "this guy just KO'd Chuck Lidell, so he's obviously very good" card because he needs a fight that will create some buys.
