Humans will always be swayed in certain directions. Computers don't care what Kirk Herbstreit and ESPN have to say.

Put in a nice little computer algorithm and roll.

But this is all about money and ratings

They would end up using some shite like ESPN's FPI which currently has OU #1, Bama #2, and Ohio State at #3. It also has Clemson at #6 behind 3 loss teams Baylor at #4 and Ole Miss at #5. Michigan State is all the way down at #14.

Been preaching this for 2 straight years.

The BCS has gotten the same teams as the committee any ways, however the match up would be different this.

There's always going to be potential for politics and bias with a committee. Always. All this extra work is not necessary

Does it matter? Looks like we got the top 4 teams.

I love how everyone is so mad about this when these rankings were easy to predict from the second the last game ended last night.

Sagarin:

1. Alabama
2. Oklahoma
3. Clemson
4. Ohio State

Massey:

1. Alabama
2. Clemson
3. Oklahoma
4. Ohio State

*edit
I don't agree with this and I don't know if many would. Just pointing it out.

The computer polls were an abomination because only Colley released their formula and methodology. Just as opaque as the committee. If a computer ranking is going to be used, it has to be open source so it's inputs and assumptions can be torn apart.

What was wrong with the BCS rankings? Use the same system, just take the top 4.

Not only that but...while I believe that OU probably deserved the #3 spot more(splitting hairs though really), I think people fail to realize that MSU proposes more of a matchup problem and may be a tougher out for Bama, even if OU is the better team.

Yeah, if we are gonna use computer rankings that have Ohio State ranked above Michigan State, then that shite would be worse than any human rankings being used because that's ridiculous

The Coaches Poll was the problem.

For reference, Harbaugh also has Ohio State at #4.

likely the most "talented" teams - considering all the variables involved, it brings the truth
