I've always appreciated the game the way it's played with no set time limit.....but it's time to do something to affect pace. I vote yes.

BTW...a pitch clock does not put a time limit on the game.

They are trying this in the minor leagues this season. The pitcher has 20 seconds from the time the catcher throws the ball back to the pitcher.

I say no, but I do think the umpires should start enforcing the rule that is already in place. Put the emphasis there instead.

The game is losing fans in droves,young people vacillate to the more dynamic sports such as football,basketball and soccer. MLB is excruciatingly slow paced and is dying a slow death....management better get off the azz NOW, and do anything and everything they can to entice new followers !

No. If I'm on first base and the pitch clock is down to 2 seconds I'm stealing second because I know the pitcher cannot throw over.

Pitcher has 20 seconds from the time he receives the ball to get set, not to pitch.

Also call a ball on the batter if he steps out of the box for more than 10 second.

Oh I'm completely fine with that. Does it ever take non Red Sox or Yankee pitchers 20 seconds to set?

Time is of the essence. The rhythms break,
More varied and subtle than any kind of dance;
Movement speeds up or lags. The ball goes out
In sharp and angular drives, or long slow arcs,
Comes in again controlled and under aim;
The players wheel or spurt, race, stoop, slide, halt,
Shift imperceptibly to new positions,
Watching the signs according to the batter,
The score, the inning.

Time is of the essence. The shadow moves
From the plate to the box, from the box to second base,
From second to the outfield, to the bleachers.

Time is of the essence. The crowd and players
Are the same age always, but the man in the crowd
Is older every season. Come on, play ball!

You prob don't know the answer but how long does the catcher have to throw the ball back to the pitcher?

Its not the pitcher so much as it is the premadonna batters at the plate with all the crap they HAVE to do before getting ready to hit after EVERY PITCH..... Scratching the balls and licking their elbow and craking their knuckles and making love tho their bat... All that shite needs to go away... Just step up to the plate ready to hit.... BTW frick the MLB...Its becoming the worst sport out there.
