God I forgot how bad the St Helena Central field is. Played on that piece of shite in high school. The previous week their fans had broken out the windows on the Farmerville bus. Ghetto piece of shite school.

West Monroe is building their new homeside right after they play their last home game in the playoffs. The tiny visitor side from 1987 is finally being torn down and the new homeside is going up.

Coach Gros left Hahnville in 75 to go to Nicholls, he was a coach there while I was there. He probably went to CL around 80 or 81. That man was a helluva coach and a nice guy. My dad was the Asst. Principal at HHS while he was there.

I think his last season at Hahnville was was 1973. Hahnville beat Central Lafourche 14-7 in 1968 for the AA state title. I didn't realize their 1 loss that season was to Central though. He won another title in '72 (AAA) vs Denham Springs 26-26. He hopped to Central in '80.

West Monroe has a badass field.

Just wait

Visitor side will become home side and the turf really needs to be replaced as well. It's not anywhere close to as good as Neville or Richwood's much less Carroll and Wossman.

Now do I think we need a new home side? No, because no visiting team is going to fill up WM's current home side. There will be a lot of empty seats.

Those photos are all two years old. Catholic High has redone the track and actually have a turf practice field now.

That site doesn't even include the new jumbotron. That old one has been taken down and the new one is bigger than LSU's.

I can remember the impending doom feeling when pulling up in the yellow school bus and seeing this building and stadium.

lol!

I went to see Rummel play Evangel at their place in the 03 playoffs where we got our asses waxed that night. They had Booty and Jacob Hester on the team at the time. It was a great stadium and atmosphere.

I remember walking to the visitor side and looking at the Evangel players going through warmups. Those were some of the largest players I've ever witnessed to this day in high school football.

A pantheon of wood and aluminum, the cathedral of high school football, where opponents' dreams come to die
