Either Bama or FSU is going to land that important quality loss in week 1. Can't underestimate the importance of a quality loss.
21-24 game. Both defenses look amazing. Offenses look pretty good and one just makes the plays late to win.

How the shite is that not a good look for the loser if the winner in a legit playoff team?

A 2 loss playoff team is eventually going to happen but a lot of factors are going to have to come into play.

I do agree with your point though. I don't think its a smart bet to have both in the playoffs due to one starting the season 0-1.

I think Florida State is a tad overrated so it's not really going to matter.

This post is dumb, unless you already have accepted the fact that Bama runs the table in the SEC. poor LSU loony toon arse fanboys.
You've made it clear that you are the dumb one. The game is pointless as far as the playoffs. The game won't help or hurt Bama. The game won't hurt FSU; it could help them but not likely.

I guess the question is is it better for FSU to lose by 3 to Bama or win by 10 over...Stanford (just throwing that out)

lol wtf. Obviously it hurts them
If they lose another game after losing the opener, their odds of making the playoffs take a HUGE hit, and will depend on a lot of things.

Whereas if they win, they can AFFORD to lose another game and still be a lock to be in the game.

You lose that first game, you're on a tight leash and pretty much can't afford another letdown...which is a problem when dealing with 18-22 year olds.

So yeah, while it's a "good loss," it's still a loss and it matters quite a bit.

Week 1 losses for big schools like FSU and Bama are essentially useless. Might as well be a bye week for those teams

A bye week? You are not saying losses are not important early on here. You are saying that which ever team loses will win out or atleast is certain to win their conference and that the fsu vs bama game is meaningless because they are going to the playoffs either way. Which makes you kinda dumb for not seeing that. But only dumb in the sports world, I'm sure you're just fine everywhere else.

Meh. 12-1 conference champion Alabama/FSU is a lock for the playoffs, regardless of when the loss happened
