Exactly.
They want mendy as a cf. Success or failures of guys on the big league squad isn't going to press the fo's hand.
With that said I think you see him and soler in September with the thought that baez breaks camp with the cubs next year and soler as possibly doing so but much more likely of the two to start next year in the minors.
