I posted this on the rant and it got deleted. Don’t know why it didn’t just get moved.

Who the frick decided to pit OSU vs TTU? 4 big 12 teams made it in? Yet 2 play each other in the supers?

Because they want to ensure the Big 12 gets a team to Omaha.

so they pair SEC teams to make sure not all of them get to Omaha, but for other conferences it's to make sure one of them gets there?

Are you trying to compare any other conference to the SEC in baseball? This isn't football where conferences are more even.

Big 12 usually plays in Omaha so I doubt that is the reason why

LSU would be playing Georgia had they beat the Noles..

And UCLA would be playing Oregon State if the Beavs hadn't gone 2 and Q, and UNC would be playing at Georgia Tech if they didn't lose to Auburn. (What a terrible post season for the two Georgia national seeds!)

With the old system they didn't match up conference hosts against each other, now with the 1-16 seeding conference hosts will play each other. Softball has been doing it since going to the Super Regional format, I believe.

It'll be okay!

technically they could, but resumes are close enough together a team could slide a spot or move up one and we'd be none the wiser to avoid such matchups
