MSU has all off-season to implement a little of what Ohio State did (and Oregon obviously to fix it's issues) but I'm sure you'll at least see some counter early on.

I said the linebackers were pathetic vs. Ohio State, and they were. Watch the film, they were awful.

I'm not exactly sure what the enrollment of Ohio State has to do with on-field success of the football program. Ohio certainly does have great in-state talent (which many have shite on for years on this site).

No where in this thread was I being a "dick". I was just telling it how it was and has been for Oregon for a while now. I know it's tough to hear, and I didn't want to hear it from 2006-2014, but most of it was true. Teams need to adjust when the reality of their situation comes to light. I think Oregon is a great program, a great state and I wish them nothing but the best in the future, and have never said anything differently. I think Mark Helfrich is a stand-up guy, no question.

ETA: And to piggyback off of VABuckeye, you're definitely a good Oregon fan. I went back through your posts earlier from before and after the game and you were nothing but a class act.

You don't get to the NC game, win the Rose Bowl, give Stanford and MSU their roughest rushing outings with pathetic linebacker play. You got 42 points on us and some of those drives were extended by Jones falling forward on 4th down. You had an unstoppable offense in many ways. Marshall on the sweep, Elliott on the counter and Jones on the qb carry with a deep threat and monster blocker in the slot was going to cause a lot of defenses problems.

Urban is scary.

I don't expect you to white wash things but tOSU fans have gone out of their way to demean the Ducks. Words like pathetic and soft are mischaracterizations.

The threat of the run from the quarterback is what it requires. We were dreadful against running qbs. We got so big on defense that we can get caught in space with our shorts down.

There's a former coach who does film breakdown and is active and well respected on the main Ducks forum. He blamed most of the problems with the counter play squarely on the Oregon linebackers. I didn't completely agree with him because there was one play in particular where Armstead abandoned his gap and went inside which led to a big Elliott run.

I agree about the Ohio State offense. You have to defend everything against it and that is not an easy task for any defense if they are firing on all cylinders.
