Watching the 30 for 30 about Rafael and Will Clark while waiting for LSU game to start:

What's your opinion on players who used 'performance enhancing' drugs?

- I put in quotes bc I differentiate based on what drugs we're talking about but the penalties are the same in most cases

How many players admit to drinking before and after games, bc if you hate steroid users drinking before a game or going on a binder beforehand would be comparable, no?

Personally hgh doesn't have many, if any, proven long term effects as anabolic steroids does so it doesn't bother me tbh. Like in the NFL if players in Seattle and Denver smoke marijuana, it's legal so idrc.

Rain delay question.

Eta: Ken Griffey Jr. Should have been a unanimous Hof selection. Never close to suspicion, made baseball cool again imo, and was a goat playing against juiced pitchers.

It was great for the game. MLB didn't mind cashing the checks.

The ones on my team were just good boys who didn't do nothing wrong.

The ones on the other teams were fricking cheaters who deserved to get kicked out of the sport.

I find it odd that people get in such an outrage over players using PEDs in baseball, but don't give a damn about football players doing it.

I also find the whole assuming every player that is doing well, like Eric Thames, is on steroids to be such a lazy narrative.

The outrage over PEDs is a bunch of bologna.

What most who get crazy about it seem to lose sight of is that it's just a game. Period. Entertainment industry.

Griffey was my favorite player growing up. Still have about 50 of his baseball cards in the attic.

I watched it too. I don't care that players did steroids. I don't think it is cheating the game. Think that is just where the game was in that era. "You cannot compare eras, you can only compare success."

Hgh has not left the game either. It is probably more present in sports than the American public knows because they cannot handle it.

I personally disagree. I don't like watching overly built sluggers that are otherwise unathletic hit 40+ HRs a year. In terms of superstars, give me Trout/Harper any day over the likes of McGwire/late-Bonds/Sosa. Way more interesting to me to watch guys with versatile skillsets that add value to their clubs beyond hitting HRs.

Obviously players still cheat, but the game has definitely been redefined, and I'm glad elite pitching has been emphasized considerably more.

Pardon My Take podcast had Paul Lo Duca on the show a few weeks ago and he talked in depth about his feelings on the issue. I've never put that much stock into it.... Everybody was doing it the great players we're still great players.

His whole point was how hypocritical the HOF process was with guys who weren't listed in some book who may or may not have done stuff and the point he made that really resonated with me.

How many of Barry Bonds 750+ homeruns were after he started juicing and besides that point how many of those homeruns were hit off of guys who were juicing?

Im more along these lines. I dont HATE the steroid era but guys who can barely move holding what looks to be a toothpick to hit is meh. Now HGH as a form of injury recovery Im all for Id rather watch stars play over some guy getting a cup of coffee because a guy is on the DL.

I've said before:

Love to play basketball most

Love to watch football most

Ken Griffey Jr will always be my favorite athlete.

Exactly. We watch the NFL preseason to see the names we know.

For those basketball 90s era purists, do you believe players used during that era?

I find it odd as well when no one cares if football players use. I'm over it at this point. I just wish if they get caught just own it, and stop pretending you didn't know what you were taking. All these teams have so many doctors and trainers to ask if X supplement is legal or not. Just accept fault. And take your suspension, and move on.

stop it, enough of the MLB roid shite, the NFL is juiced out of their f'in gourds. A league of roiders, thugs, and wife beaters.

That should be the NFL slogan

"NFL, the league of Juicers,Wife Beaters, and Thugs"

NFL is such a fraud, they let MLB take the wrap on Roids, and let the NBA take the wrap on Thugs. NFL is 1000x worse than either of those leagues.
