On this Belmont day... about whipping horses to make them run faster.

Why is that stuff tolerated in this day and age? We Americans condemn bullfighting, and rightly so, and applying a whip is not nearly so bad, but it's STILL BAD.
And, while I'm at it, frick the British for their foxhunts.

Because humans beings are huge hypocrites. It just so happens that the majority likes horse racing but doesnt like dog dighting or cock fighting so we made one illegal and the other not. If I whipped my dog in public I may be arrested actually

Bull fighting is somewhat chicken shite with how much they Frick up the bull before the matador fights it. However they make up for it by letting the bulls mow down clowns in Pamplona.
Dog fighting is disgusting and inhumane given dogs place in our society. Dogs have so much loyalty and love for mankind I can't see fighting then for sport. Cock fighting is whatever, we slaughter chickens by the millions for food, let the roosters fight. Heck if we made it legal it may curtail dog fighting.

What would happen if I run through my neighborhood whipping my dogs arse to make him run faster? I would have a cop on my front porch when I got home. But with horses we don't give a frick because we don't have that emotional attachment. My point is it is based in hypocrisy. We don't truly care about animals, we care about the animals we want to care about

Also these horses retire early and spend their days in a beautiful pasture with world class care and get to Frick constantly..

To that big arse horse the whip is nothing more than popping yourself with a rubber band. Sure it's an irritation but painful....no.
