Nay.
He's revealed himself (time and again) as a mean spirited and partisan know-it-all. He didn't offer thoughtful commentary on the news of the day. He attacked people - constantly/daily - for more than a decade. And he didn't just attack politicians or policy makers for their positions, he attacked them - and their families - personally.
Now, when he's been fired so many times he can't count and he knows he won't be allowed back in the club to offer his far left-wing rants, he wants to say "Hey, everyone, remember me! I'm the ESPN guy! You remember, sure you do, with Dan Patrick? You loved me. Let's just forget about all that other stuff I did and said (and believe to the core of my being). I want to be the funny/witty sports guy again!"
I tried his show a couple times just to make sure my dislike of him continued to be well founded or maybe to surprise myself and think differently of him. Same old Keith. Looking down his nose and criticizing people in the sports world like he did in the political/cultural world. He yearns to not only tell you that his views are correct, but also that he's smarter than ANYONE who might hold a different view, that he's better than anyone who might disagree with him.
frick him.

as long as he checks his politics at the door. I could give a shite less about his political views or anyone else's when I am watching a sports show.

This. It's amazing that people can be so very butthurt over someone having different political views than them. If he's entertaining, who gives a shite? I don't agree with the majority of the views that Jon Stewart has but I can still laugh my arse off when watching his show.

But comparing Jon Stewart to KO on a sports show isn't really a valid comparison. Politics is all JS does. That is his shtick just like Stephen Colbert. I am talking about when random sports reporter tries to make a comparison by using their political views as an analogy or metaphor. Or they just outright turn a sports story into a political story like Bob Costas did with his rant about gun control. I don't agree (even if I did I wouldn't want it during sports) with it and I don't want it on a show about sports. I watch sports in part to escape the shitty world we live in. It is a release and a distraction. Quit taking the fun out of it by bringing politics into it.

Word. As far as I know, Olbermann hasn't really dragged politics into his new show. I haven't watched it, though, so who really know? I'm pretty liberal by this site's standards and Costas bringing politics into his SNF commentaries annoys/angers me to no end. He's such a great sportscaster, I don't know why he feels the need to bring that shite up. If I want to get pissed off about the current state of the world I can flip it onto MSNBC/CNN/Fox/Any network news channel.
