MSU, to be honest this year I have kept up with more HS football than I did since I graduated. I was just messing around with the guy, but yeah I am not one of those old dudes who live and die by their HS team.

Most people probably stop following high school football for at least awhile when they first get out of school. Some come back to it later when younger family members play.

It also depends a lot on the tradition of the area. In the River Parishes the communities tend to support the high school teams. There's a long history of success and trips to the dome where the towns get really pumped up. Same for the teams in the I-55 corridor and in some parts of North La.

I think its beneficial to the teams and beneficial to the communities. Fosters a sense of unity and pride. Brings people from differnt walks of life together supportint their team. And, of course, it makes for some great playoff road trips.
