I don't know their record ATS first half this year off the top of my head but they haven't lost for me yet. There's been a few times like tonight where they covered the first half and let up after half.
I do a fair amount of first half wagering on favorites in football but I think it's an even better play a lot of times in basketball. In football sometimes teams need extra possessions for everything to play out but basketball has so many possessions it's all about getting the better number. Like tonight 5.5 vs 10.

You might be right. Oakland is a good 3 point shooting team that can really exploit Eastern Michigan's zone defense, especially at home.
But I would favor Eastern Michigan here on a neutral court. So even factoring in home court I think 8 points is too much.
For the line to steam from 5.5 to 8 is worrying.

Man what was I thinking with Eastern Michigan... since going up 11 they have been outscored 60-27. Poorly coached team. Trying to do alley oops down by 15 points and failing.

Lost my first teaser leg of the year as Providence missed 2 free throws and then couldn't rebound 3 shots to barely miss the cover.
It was bound to happen eventually.
Was still was able to salvage something with New Mexico and Eastern Michigan legs so it wasn't a total loss.
