Odd CFB Stat of the Week: Baylor is 3rd in D1A in Rushing/Game

they are only behind pure option teams (GA So and GA Tech) in rushing ypg
averaging the highest ypc, too (higher than LSU by 0.4 ypc)

they have played no 1AA teams this year
SMU, LA-Monroe, Rice, and TTech
they are averaging 745 total offensive yards/game. 115 more than the #2 team

They played Lamar, not ULM.
Rice and SMU are both awful
Texas Tech plays zero defense
And I'm not saying Baylor isn't a really good team. I think they'll be in the playoffs. Those numbers will fall as they play some real teams though.

i don't think they're going to face many top-flight Ds in the big12 though so it's almost moot
and most teams have played 3-4 gimmie games against shite teams, too, so it's not like we're comparing this stretch to LSU's november schedule or anything
but baylor is an air-raid passing team so i was really shocked to see them crushing the ball on the ground so far

no i was looking at offensive stats for my thread about our passing game and thought that was a misprint when looking at total rushing stats

they have more conference titles and the same # of national titles as LSU since jimbo's QBs left
and yes, the big12 isn't teh SEC but they have "won something"

Not really, they have been avg over 200+ yds rushing the last several years with more rushing attempts that passing attempts.

Briles always runs the rock, they aren't really a true "air raid" team. The only Big 12 that really runs the air raid is TTech.
