Before the year, Dustin Pedroia had the highest fielding % for a 2nd Basemen in MLB history. He's currently .0014 behind the all time lead and tied for 3rd overall.

Not sure if it's a record, but Craig Biggio went an entire season without hitting into a double play.

Not exactly a record, more of an obscure fact:
Bob Montgomery in 1979, last player to play without a batting helmet.

ESPN is obsessed with stuff like this, well more stats than records but "they're hitting .286 against left handed pitchers in the month of June when the state gets at least 3 inches of rain and Congress is in session."

Some Wally Holland quotes from one of tGOAT movies; Little Big League

quote:

1) Last year though, he was sixth in the American League in hitting right-handers he was facing for the first time...after the seventh inning...at home!

2) An interesting side note: that's the 14th one-run game for the Tigers already this season, tops for any team north of the Mason-Dixon Line, whose home games are not played in a dome.

3) Lou, by the way, has hit .416 lifetime versus Hanley in the month of September in even years, so that certainly bodes well for this at-bat

Ivan Baranka can call himself a point per game player in the NHL.

He played one game for the Rangers and got an assist. Then he left for Europe.

Several first basemen have played a nine-inning game without a single fielding chance.
