Nice, now he can air out all the espn stuff he has and have Carolla back on the podcast.

He'll be back just like the rest of them.

Unless somebody gives him a crazy 3 year deal and he just "retires" after that to write books.

I'm fine with that. He'll be off of the ESPN pregame show and Grantland doesn't need him anymore. I loved his Book of Basketball, but it seems like ever since it came out and Grantland started to gain traction, he gained this over-hyped sense of entitlement

I wonder what the breakout is of who actually owns 30 for 30 and Grantland stuff. Does Simmons have to do those things under completely separate names now?

I don't know....I think the S in ESPN stands for Scientology. They stay lawyered up.

ESPN lawyers aren't stupid.

They paid for it, they own it.

Damn. Will Grantland be without Simmons?

That would suck.

I'm good with that and expect it. Just hope he doesn't trash ESPN like Dan Patrick does every day...just gets old after a while.

I would love to see guys like Simmons, Lowe and a couple others go to NBA TV and build it up. It could be so much better than what it is currently.

I feel like being employed by the NBA would really hinder ole Bill.

Not a fan of these 3 being separates, especially Zach Lowe and Simmons.

I don't know, seems like those guys have more freedom. I like watching shows like open court. With the potential documentaries and things like that I think it would be right up his alley. Plus Stern is not the commish anymore. Silver seems far more progressive.
