Only reason I still follow how Notre Dame does is due to the fact that my grandpa was an Irish diehard. He would go up to South Bend for 1 game every year. Was planning to go with him in 2006 but he died in November of 2005 and never got that chance. One day I'll make it out there to experience it.

Do we believe Brian Kelly is gone after the season?

I think he gets another year. But the block is about to get hot.

I still think he's a solid coach as they weren't that far from the playoff last year, but a few Domers on here have pointed out his numbers aren't all that good.

Depends are the Irish still paying Weiss. That would suck to be paying 3 head coaches all at the same time.

Weiss
Kelly

ND gave another year to Weis, Willingham and Davie after their first losing seasons. None of them played for a national title either.

I don't think they pull the trigger on Kelly yet.

I think the Irish could be a national factor with the right coach. Kelly has shown he can recruit there. He just doesn't put any emphasis on defense and calls stupid plays that increase their turnover chances.

Look at their recruiting classes. How are they worse than Washington, Louisville, etc.? Look at their incoming 2017 class. That class is strong if it stays together.

ND can still recruit at an elite level, but they need an elite coach.

It depends on Kelly's relationship with Swarbrick. Swarbrick doesn't seem to put up with bullshite.

Plus, Kelly is a lot more abrasive than Weis, Willingham, and Davie. That abrasiveness may lead to him being gone with a quickness.

I hate them regardless, but I have never liked their shitass coach for dropping Cincinnati like a hot rock right before their bowl game in what was probably their best season ever, just to get to his dream job as soon as possible. That's shitty, don't care if it is the norm.

Eh, he was never going to do better with Cincy. It's like Herman now. Kelly did say he could not have left if Cincy ended up in the championship game.

I don't hate the man for leaving. I understand he wanted to get a start on recruiting. Why stay to finish a meaningless game? It's a job market and this happens in every profession.

Is Notre Dame still the most hated collegiate team in America, or is that Alabama now?

People hate ND because they get SOOOOO much hype every year and fail... They hate Bama cause they are just REAL GOOD every year and live up to the hype.....

Wrong.

True, but if the right Irish fans and more especially the ND Administration feel it's time for a change and someone who they feel like is the right candidate is available, they certainly have the resources to pull the trigger on ending Kelly's tenure and starting over with a new coach.

I think Kelly is about as good as they're going to get in South Bend.
