Let's take a breath and watch two sons whose dads played baseball for LSU and give the saints and LSU football the night off from over exposure. Geaux jays!

Btw those two guys were Andy galey and Brett forshag from skips early teams.. Enjoy a sport besides LSU or saints for the night and pull for the team representing the state. these teams get 1/1000 the exposure that even little league World Series gets

Trent Forshag is the latest signing with the Tigers this year too. He had the winning walk off single last night to put Jesuit in the championship! But call the thread non-LSU if you'd like!

Let's go Bluejays (even if y'all are still momma's pride and momma's joy)!!!

For those folks reading this thread that are not from the NO area, you wouldn't believe how serious people used to get over Legion ball in the city.

Who was Jesuit circa 1983, 84?
Rummel I think was Schaff maybe?
Brother Martin was Wendys pretty sure

Dang I'm getting old/can't remember who was who

Holy Cross was Saucer Marine for a long time, before becoming Ponsteins. Shaw used to be Time Saver I think. You are correct on Schaff and Wendy's, I think Jesuit used to be Odeco Drillers

Yes Jeauit was Odeco. And in 79 80Jesuit was loaded with talent won prep state and legion state two years in a row. Went to the legion World Series but didn't win.
I was on the prep team with Galy and Forshag in 82 and 83.
We sucked those two years and they won state the year after. Both went on to LSU, but Forshag ended up leaving the team because Skip wanted to make him a relief pitcher and he wanted none of that. Forshag had an incredible arm. I think Galy's kid is going to Tulane.

I ended up playing Legion in Metry for East Jeff, Burger King sponsored us, it was horrible. Rummel was Schaff, there was an independent team Shamrock Construction, Ecole had a team can't remember who sponsored them

They just lost 9-2 to SouthCarolina. Apparently, SC was undefeated in their Legion regular season.

DLS was sponsored by Chiquita Bananas and held their own with Jesuit, Br. Martin, and Rummel. Joey Latino, current coach of Jesuit, was on the DLS team. City MVP and all state in 1981
