Puig has just started doing interviews as his English is getting better.... He kind of has the Mike Tyson voice.

Ouch...amazing they beat the Nats with those numbers. They might not make it to game 5 against LA if this doesn't improve.

I find it curious that Rondon was not good enough to be on the roster for the Nats yet he's good enough to come in such a crucial juncture last night.

What about Strop? Dude has been the only of the Cub relievers consistently nasty.

Also, Joe double switches....takes Almora out and leaves Schwarber in. He starts Schwarber against not only a lefty, but frickin Kershaw.

Joe just does some weird stuff. Great big picture manager, probably the best, but very shaky in game and situational manager.

A friend of mind was pissed thinking Q got squeezed on the walks, but that's part of baseball, gotta overcome. The moves after that were very questionable.

It was the 6th inning, they were trying to steal an inning with Rondon so they could set up 7-8-9 how they wanted. All in all that & the slide doesn't matter, for we never got another base runner after Kershaw left

As we've seen throughout the post-season, regular season norms don't apply. If leverage is in the 6th and it was here, IMHO you play to that.

Of course not...game was over by then - the slide was an absolute non-factor in the outcome, Cubs have not sniffed Jansen in the post season. But I do think better moves earlier could have made a difference, and I'd have liked to have Almora's bat and a better fielder in left for those later innings.

It wasn't really high leverage in the 6th. Game 1 of 7x Tie game, Kershaw out the game. Nothing wrong with trying to steal that inning

It really was you had to keep the game tied with Jansen lurking (Cubs have no shot of hitting him) and putting in a guy who was not good enough to be on the roster vs. the Nats ain't gonna cut it. Leverage in the playoffs is different then leverage in the regular season.

Now I'll give you this, Joe's bad decisions that night pale in comparison to last night.
