Will Nike capitulate and let Rory wear a Titleist, Ping, or Taylormade hat and/or bag?

well Nike isnt going to make bags anymore, so he can probably use any bag he wants. but they will probably keep making hats

Everyone should try Snell. Great golf balls for half the price.

I would guess Nike is going to pull what Marlboro does for their Ferrari F1 sponsorship.

Tobacco got outlawed in F1 but Marlboro had a very extended sponsorship deal. They now sublease parts of the car for sponsorship.

My guess is Rory's contract stipulates he uses the club they say (not necessarily Nike) so Nike will essentially be subleasing or selling the equipment portion of his contract. Nike gets paid back and Rory continues with his already absurd contract.

Tiger played those Titleist irons basically with Nike's logo on it.

Actually, they think Tiger was really hitting Miura's with the Nike stamp.

This news explains why Charl Shrawtzal just all off the sudden switched to PXG clubs.

So as a beginner in golf and someone who needs a new set of clubs, should I expect a steep discount on Nike golf clubs soon?

They are already discounted. Taylor Made and Callaway are big sellers. I like the XR irons but I despise hybrids.
