Nick Saban needs to stop making excuses and solve Alabama's real problems

"Our team chemistry from the SEC championship game to the playoff game was affected by something," Saban said. "... We had six guys in this situation this past year and 11 the year before. So we're trying to get ready for a game, and all of a sudden a guy finds out he's a first-round draft pick or a guy that thought he was a first-round draft pick finds out he's not a first-round draft pick, and we're trying to get ready to play a playoff game. I think it would be better not to submit that information to a player until he was finished competing in college."
We'll pause for a moment here while America wipes its sympathy tears for poor Alabama and poor Nick. Perhaps we should set up a hankie stand in Tuscaloosa.
So now we know: the Tide lost to Ohio State because of draft info. Not because 'Bama underperformed, underprepared or was flat whipped.
Not because Ezekiel Elliott made the 'Bama defense look heavy-legged and slow while slashing them for 230 yards and two touchdowns. Not because a former third-string quarterback making his second career start threw for 243 yards. Not because Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin kept dialing up passes when he should have been calling runs.
And clearly not because Urban Meyer outcoached Nick Saban.
The past two seasons haven't ended well for Alabama and its coach has been quick to assign blame

Would you kindly list Alabama's real problems real quick?

Considering that he brought in Tom Herman (who was the OC at Ohio State) to help him out this offseason, I think he is also addressing "Alabama's real problems."

Poor misunderstood nicky. If it weren't for all the distractions that everyone causes bama to have to deal with (distractions that no other program has to endure such as press conferences and whatnot), the man would be unbeatable.

I'm so glad it's here too.

Saban sure has a lot of excuses at his disposal when outcomes don't go his way.

A grossly overrated Dcoord
Hearing Smarts name in the Coaching rumors is laughable. I hope a portion of his contract goes to Saban, he's made Smart whole lot of cash.

Seriously. It's not like we just did this for 12 pages on the rant.

Nick Saban said playing OU last year had to convince team "getting them to try to play in consolation game"

I look forward to a new round of excuses around this time next year.

I imagine he remembered Saban bringing in the former OSU OC turned Houston head coach. Couldn't remember his name and googled Houston head coach which still brings up Tony Levine.
Tom Herman is who you're looking for bro.

Saban doesn't want these guys to know if they are a first round pick until after the playoffs, however he's all for coaches announcing they are leaving, well before a bowl game or the season is over. Such a double standard from the King of Pricks.

Tony Levine is the Houston HC that got shitcanned this past year. He was a special teams coach and was bad hire from the get go.
He was replaced by Tom Herman. That's the dude who was the OSU OC Saban brought in.
